Ervadi gaining importance in Tamilnadu

Al Qutbul Hamid wal Gausul Majid Badhusha Hazrat Sulthan Syed Ibrahim Shaheed Radiyalla Ta’ala anhu is a 18th generation hereditary grandson of Prophet Muhammad. He was the king of Madinah while he started towards in India in early 12th century to spread Islam according to the Prophet’s wish. With millions of supporters from all over the world. Sultan Syed Ibrahim Shahid first came to the sind province in Pakistan spread islam there through various means and returned back to Madinah. Again obliging Rasulullah’s order, Shaheed badusha started from Madinah with his entire family leaving the throne. He came across various difficulties while travelling in the sea and in the forests towards India without proper food and shelter or some nice water to drink and finally entered Kannanur in Kerala. His ultimate aim was to spread islam as per the order of his hereditary grandfather Hazrat Muhammad. He travelled via, Kayalpattinam, Vaippar, Madurai and finally entered Bouthiramanickapattinam, now called as Ervadi.
The war

Hazrat Sultan Syed Ibrahim Shaheed, offered the islamic teachings to the Pandiya ruler Thiru Pandiyan in Madurai who refused to accept and waged a war. Finally the troops of Hazrat Sultan Syed Ibrahim Shaheed won and Sultan Iskandar (Sikandar) Badusha was throned in madurai. Then the troops of Sulthan Syed Ibrahim Shaheed went ahead towards Bouthramanickapattinam. Shahidh badusha offered Islam to the king Vikkirama Pandiyan who very strictly refused and asked to leave the kingdom. Shaheed refused to leave without turning them muslims. Vickrama pandiyan started war. A very vigorous war which took about 10 sessions each of around 3–4 days held. All of the family members of Shaheed Badhusah including his only lovable son Syed Abutahir, Brother Syed Ismail, Brother in Law Zainul Aabideen and many of the martyrs and ministers of Shaheedh badhusha like Amir Abbas of Rome, Abdul Qadir Mujahid, Muhaiyaddeen, Aboobakkar Abdul Hakkim, Abdullah, Shamsuddin of Makkah, Qamaruddin, Nooruddeen, Muhammadh Yusuf, Jafar Sadiq, Rome Syed Ahmad, Zulfaqar Ali @ Chanthana Peer of Turkey, Abdul Qadir Gilani, Abdul Qadir Samadaani, Pathan Sahib, Hamza basheer, Uvaisul Hasan Ridwanullahi Ta’ala alaihim ajmaeen and few more thousands were killed. Finally, king Vickrama pandiyan was killed and Sulthan Syed Ibrahim Shaheed Badusha won the war and captured the throne of Bouthiramanickapatttinam.

He ruled the province for 12 years and spread islam all over south tamilnadu. He too wished to be a martyr and told about that to Rasulullah who promised it.
The peace

Later King Tiru pandiyan, came from madurai with a larger troop and assassinated Shaheed badusha to re capture the thrown after 12 years. Then again badusha Syed Is’haq (Shaheed badhusha’s brother Syed Ismail badusha’s son) killed king Thiru pandiyan and captured thrown. Now the rivalry between the Arabs and pandiyas came to and end when both signed a pact, stating Arabs (Descendants of Shaheed Badusha) to rule the Bouthiramanikka pattinam (Ervadi) Province and the pandiyas to rule Ramanathapuram province. This was under implementation till the 17th century before English East India Company started occupying India. Hazrath Syedina Azad Vali Auliya (RA) is also one of the greatest Auliyas of Tirupattur in Tamil Nadu and his Dargah Sharif is a known place where many people have realised their duas for years now. Even to-date, many people take sacred mud from the Mazar-e-Mubarak of Hazrath Syedina Azad Vali Auliya (RA) and use it for curing their diseases. Great Miracle of Hazrath Syedina Azad Vali Auliya (RA), Shahin Shah-e-Marifat:-

Hazrath Syedina Azad Vali Auliya (RA) in his old age used to sit near the masjid where he is buried now. When people came to offer prayers, he use to advise them keep their heart away from kufr. To prove it, he used to open his chest using a knife and take out his heart. After that, he would wash his heart cleanly and put it back in it’s original location and close his chest. Subhan ALLAH! Many times, people have observed his holy body got into pieces. Due to these amazing but frightening Karamaths of Hazrath Syedina Azad Vali Auliya (RA), Namazis ( people who came to Masjid to offer prayers ) slowly stopped coming over there. It is observed that the Masjid was empty until this Auliya was alive and no one dared to come to offer namaz over there. At times in the night, people have seen his holy body becoming pieces in the Zikr status. After the Wisal of Hazrath Syedina Azad Vali Auliya (RA), people started coming to the Masjid and Madarassa was also resumed.

Hazrath Syedina Khwaja-e-Bangalore (RA) was blessed with the title called “Zun-naar” and also Faizan-e-Marifat from Hazrath Syedina Azad Vali Auliya (RA):-

When Hazrath Syedina Lalu Bhai Qasir Chisty Al-Ma’roof Hazrath Mahboob Ali Shah Chisty (RA) wanted to learn Irfan and had desire to say Irfani Kalam ( Kalam-e-Marifat ), his beloved Peer-o-Murshid directed him to go to Tirupattur and get Faizan of Marifat from Hazrath Syedina Azad Vali Auliya (RA).

About Tirupattur:-
Tirupattur is a town located in Vellore District, Tamil Nadu, India. The town has mainly small-scale industries and mills. Some people might describe Tirupattur as a satellite town, in which people reside and go to work in nearby industrial towns such as Vaniyambadi and Ambur in the north, but it is a commercial center from time immemorial (whereas Vaniyambadi and Ambur, which were once smaller towns, have recently flourished). Tirupattur is called as “Sandal City”, located about 222 km away from the state capital Chennai. Even a rough estimation cannot easily be established on the origin of Tirupattur town, owing to its antiquity. Though, the inscriptions so far surveyed by Archeological Survey of India in Tirupattur reveal that this town is more than 1600 years old. The name Tirupattur in English means a group of ten villages/small towns. It is surrounded by several of these villages, making Tirupattur a Taluk.

Name of the Dargah shareef: – Dagah-e-Sahabi-e-Rasool Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi Wa Sallam, Hazrath Syedina Ukkhasha (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen)

City / Town / Taluk: Parangipettai (Previously called as, Mahmood Bandhar)
District: Cuddalore
State: Tamilnadu.

One of the most famous Dargahs of Sahabi-e-Rasool Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi Wa Sallam is of Hazrath Syedina Ukkhasha (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) located in Parangipettai shareef and it’s fondly called as “Kandeduttha Dargah Shareef’ by local people. It means “the Dargah shareef that was found”. There are 360 Dargah Shareefs of Auliyas in Parangipettai and they followed Hazrath Syedina Ukkhasha (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) footsteps and settled over here. Undoubtedly, Dargah-e-Sahabi-e-Rasool Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi Wa Sallam enjoys the toppest place in the order of all 360 Dargahs of Parangipettai and is famous from the 7th Century which was when Hazrath Syedina Ukkhasha (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) arrived at Parangipettai along with his beloved disciple, Hazrath Syed Saheb Ganj (RA) who is also buried near the Sahabi-e-Kiram.

Sahab-e-Kiram, Syedina, Hazrath Ukkhasha (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) is one among 313 Sahabas who participated in Jang-e-Badr (Badr War) and he is the only Sahabi-e-Kiram, who obtained the golden opportunity of kissing Mehr-e-Nubuwwat Mubarak of Syedina, Imam-ul-Mursaleen, Shafeeh-ul-Mudhnibeen, Rahath-ul-Ashiqeen, Shams-ul-Arifeen, Siraj-ul-Salikeen, Misbah-ul-Mukarrabeen, Tajdare Anbiya, Ahamed-e-Mujtaba, Hazrath Muhammed Mustafa Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi wa Sallam.

Hazrat Syedina Ukkhasha (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) belonged to the tribe of Baddu in Arab community and was in the Khidmat of Rasool-e-Kareem Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi wa Sallam. He is one of the greatest and distinguished ashiques (Lovers) of Rasool-e-kareem, Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi wa Sallam.

During the last Sermon prior to performing Hajj, Hazrat Syedina Rasool-e-kareem, Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi wa Sallam called all the Sahaba-e-Kirams and people for an open announcement in Masjid-e-Nabawi Shareef asking that they can come in front of Huzoor-e-Kareem Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi Wa Sallam,

if Huzoor-e-Kareem Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi Wa Sallam ever cheated anyone,
if Huzoor-e-Kareem Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi Wa Sallam ever done wrong to anyone,
if Huzoor-e-Kareem Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi Wa Sallam ever beaten anyone,
if Huzoor-e-Kareem Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi Wa Sallam ever had dues with anyone,

On the contrary, nobody came in front. During the announcement, Hazrat Nabi-e-Kareem Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi Wa Sallam was on the camel surrounded and guarded by Ameer-ul-Mu’mineen, Syedina, Hazrath Umar Farooq (Razi Allahu Tha’alah Anhu Va Rahimahu) and Ameer-ul-Mu’mineen, Syedina, Hazrath Ali bin Abu Tâleb (Karam Allahu Wajhah) along with many other Sahabai-e-Kiram. After the announcement, Huzoor-e-Kareem Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi Wa Sallam waited for a while for Sahab-e-Kiram and people to respond and suddenly Hazrat Syedina Ukkhasha (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) came in front and told Huzoor-e-Kareem Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi Wa Sallam that he was once beaten by him and he wanted a justice for that.

Having heard it, all the Sahabas became stunned and their anger rose. One of the Sahabas went to the extreme and took the sword to kill Hazrath Syedina Ukkhasha (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) at this situation but Rahmath-lil-Al’ameen, Huzoor-e-Kareem Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi Wa Sallam came down from the camel and asked all the Sahabas not to interfere between him and Hazrat Syedina Ukkhasha (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen). Hazrat Syedina Ukkhasha (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) went on explaining that when he was without a Jubba in the masjid standing for the Jamaat in the first saf, Huzoor-e-Kareem Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi Wa Sallam instructed him to stand straight and make proper saaf for the jaamat, during the occasion, he was beaten. After hearing it, Huzoor-e-Kareem Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi Wa Sallam was about to remove his Jubba Mubarak, Hazrat Syedina Ukkhasha (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) said that he was beaten by a rope which was at the home of Huzoor-e-Kareem Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi Wa Sallam, who in turn ordered Islam’s First Muezzin, Syedina, Hazrat Bilal Habshi (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) to bring the rope (Kolda) from his house.

Mazar-e-Mubarak_of_Hazrath_Syedina_Ukkasha_(RaziyALLAHU) and_his_disciple_Hazrath_Syed_Saheb_Ganj_(RA)

When Syedina, Hazrat Bilal Habshi (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) went to the holy house of Huzoor-e-Kareem Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi Wa Sallam, he explained the complete incident to the daughter of Rahmath-lil-Al’ameen (Peace and Blessings be Upon him), the Queen of Heaven, Hazrat Syeda Fatima Tu Zhara (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) and to her holy sons, Hazrath Imam Hassan ibn Ali (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) and Hazrath Imam Hussain ibn Ali (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen). All of them started crying and said to Hazrat Bilal Habshi (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) that they would accept the beatings from Hazrat Syedina Ukkhasha (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) since Huzoor-e-Kareem Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi Wa Sallam was suffering from illness during his last days and then they gave the rope.

After taking the rope, Hazrat Bilal Habshi (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) rushed back to Masjid-e-Nabawi Shareef where everybody was awaiting him and gave it at the sacred hand of Huzoor-e-Kareem Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi Wa Sallam who in turn gave it to Hazrat Syedina Ukkhasha (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) and asked him to beat but the later told that he was without Jubba when he got beating, then Rasool-e-Khuda, Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi wa Sallam removed his Jubba Mubarak. Oh! SubhanALLAH, that was the situation Hazrat Syedina Ukkhasha (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) had been longing for, then he threw the rope and kissed the Mehr-e-Nubuwwat with Adab with excitement that stretched in his every drop of blood and cried like anything and ran away from that place and came to India.

After the incident, Rasool-e-Khuda, Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi wa Sallam tightly hugged Hazrat Syedina Ukkhasha (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) and said the holy news that the later would enter Jannath. Hearing the news, all Sahaba-e-Kiram went ecstatic and whole Masjid-e-Nabawi shareef was plunged into an elated status.

Hazrat Syedina Ukkhasha (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) said about the Meher-e-Nubuwwat that he had seen it many times when he used to do Khidmat for Rasool-e-Kareem, Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi wa Sallam and was waiting for a holy time to kiss that for years. And, Meher-e-Nubuwwat was in the form (shape) of half White Egg and around which, there were small sacred hairs. There were names of Allahu Jalla Shanahu Tha’ala and Hazrat Syedina Muhammad Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi wa Sallam.

There were about 1, 24,000 Sahabi-e-Kirams present during the last sermon and many were sent to different places for the sake of spreading Islam. And among them 40 sahabas were Hafeez-e-Quran-e-Kareem. 313 Sahabi-e-Kirams participated in Jang-e-Badr and a very few famous names are listed in Hadees Shareefs. 10 sahabas were promised Paradise (Al-Asharatu Mubashshirun or Al-Mobashareen Bel-Jannah) while living itself.

Zikrullah is the main thing with the love of Rasool-e-Kareem, Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi wa Sallam and with the love of his Family (Ihl-e-Bait-e-Uzzam) and with the love of his friends (Sahaba-e-Kira’m) and with the love of Makkah Shareef and Madina Shareef in the heart. The way of success is only the one: To Rasool-e-Kareem, Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi wa Sallam. This is the way to Janna and the way to the Creator of Janna, Allahu Jalla Shanahu Tha’ala.

Billions of Ashiques of Rasool-e-Kareem, Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi wa Sallam cry whenever they listen to the waqiya of Hazrat Syedina Ukkhasha (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen). Even many great scholars, peers / mashayaks who are Ashiques of Rasool-e-Kareem, Sal-lal-lahu Alaihi wa Sallam cry on this great love of Hazrat Syedina Ukkhasha (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen).

Important Note: – In different books, the waqiya of Kissing of Meher-e-Nubuwwat and the love of Hazrat Syedina Ukkhasha (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) are similar but there is a difference in the places where the incident of kissing occurred but ultimate conclusion is that everywhere the Kissing of Meher-e-Nubuwwat and the love of Hazrath Syedina Ukkhasha (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen) is very famous.

By Khaleel Ahmed Irfani ( Khadim at Dargah-e-Khwaja-e-Bangalore (RA), Astana-e-Irfani, Hyderabad):-

I request scholars and people not to speak wrongly about Sahabas or Auliyas. If you people have any doubts, kindly visit these sacred places and collect information you will come to know the greatness of these sahabas and auliyas. And I have seen people just speak and give wrong information without knowledge. I have enquired from many great elderly people that there are only a few sahaba / sahabi in Zaher in India and in Baatin (hidden) there are many Sahabas who have been buried in various places in India in jungles and void areas etc. Allahu Jalla Shanahu Tha’ala knows better about their places.

About Parangipettai:- Parangipettai (historically called Porto Novo, is a panchayat town in Cuddalore district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Parangipetta is situated on the north bank of the mouth of the Vellar river at a distance of 30-km from Cuddalore. It has an interesting historical background. Pettai means “market place” and Parangipettai means “the market place of foreigners” in Tamil. The town was called “Mahmood Banthar” during the Mughal Empire period, and later Porto Novo by the Portuguese. Parangipettai is an important pilgrimage centre for Muslims. Parangipettai also has a unique and divesified Muslim population. It is ironic that Parangipettai still remains as a town in Tamilnadu, as it has seen the arrival of wealth and different people even before the dawn of globalisation.

Bus/Train/Flight Services to Parangipettai:- If you want to reach Parangipettai, you will first need to go to Cuddalore. Any bus that goes to Pondicherry will go via Kadalur where you need to get down and take a town bus which goes to Chidhambaram or Kumbakonam since these buses cross Parangipettai. Apart from that, there are train services available directly to Cuddalore from other states outside Tamilnadu or you can go in Pondicherry train and then follow the above-mentioned bus routes after you get down at Pondicherry. Flights are available to Pondicherry which is one of the famous tourist destinations in India. After you reach Parangipettai, please ask any Muslim brother about “Kandeduttha Dargah Shareef” and they will guide you for the ziyarath of Hazrat Syedina Ukkhasha (Rizwan Allahi Thaala Alaihim Ajmaeen). This Famous Holy Saint was born in Manickkapur near Ayodhya in the northern Indian state of U.P. on a blessed Friday early morning in the Arabic month of 10th Jamathul Akhir Hijiri 910 (1491-A.D.)The Holy Saint was the 23rd lineal descendant of the Holy Prophet MOHAMMED (S.A.W the peace upon him). His father was HAZARATH SYED HASAN KHUDDOOS SAHIB and his mother BEEBI FATHIMA.

Even before his birth, a messenger of God appeared before his mother Beebi Fathima in a dream and predicted that she would be blessed with a son who would be the Savior of people and spend his life to spread Ilam. Even as a child he showed signs of great wisdom, intense piety and divine communication before he was eight years old and learnt Arabic language and its grammar. He went in search of a religious preceptor (Master) who could educate him in solving the riddle and the secrecy of the world and who could teach him more about the Almighty and his ways and at his parent’s desire, went to Gwalior to be initiated by HAZARATH SYED MOHAMED GHOUSE SAHIB Gwalior in divine knowledge.

After more than a decade of training, he left Gwalior and went to Manickkapur with a bunch of 404 disciples and then toured extensively with his disciples in Afghanistan, Baluchistan and other places of the world performing innumerable miracles on the way by raising the dead, making the dump to speak and the lamb to walk and by curing all kinds of incurable diseases.

On his way to Makkah (Saudi Arabia), he halted in a Mosque at Lahore where a rich and respectable Mohammedan Kazi Hazarath Noordin Sahib approached him to be blessed with a child. The Saint gave a chewed betel leaf to Noordin and instructed Noordin to hand over to his wife Beebi Johara and ordained that she should swallow it and remain separated from her husband for 40 days.He prayed to the Almighty to bless Noordin with children, and also informed Noordin that the eldest son should be dedicated to him as his son and asked Noordin to remain with him for 40 days without seeing his wife.As per his blessings, Beebi Johara conceived and gave birth to a son on the 12th of Rajab Hijiri 959 and the child was named SYED MOHAMMED YOOSUF SAHIB as directed by the Holy Saint.

The child was properly educated and in his 7th year took leave of his parents to go and meet his real father at Makkah as he heard a Divine Voice informing him that his father (Hazarath Syed Shahul Hameed Qadir wali) was awaiting his arrival at Makkah so he went to Makkah and joined his father there. The Saint, his son and 404 followers-disciples visited Ponnani, Sri Lanka, Kayalpattinam, Keelakarai and Thankasi and propagated Islam.

Lastly the Saint visited Thanjavur, at that time the Naick dynasty was ruling over Thanjavur. The King Achuthuppa Naikan, then ruler of Thanjavur was suffering from a grievous and prolonged illness. The ministry of the King begged the Saint and requested him to visit the palace and cure the ill of the King. The Saint was very much moved went to the palace and found that a dove was made to suffer by black-magic, with pin pricks all over its body and it was in a very unsafe condition and was the cause of the King’s ailment at once. He asked his son to bring the dove prayed and removed one by one the pins in the body of the dove. After the removal of the pins the King recovered and got well. The queen energized by the miraculous cure of her husband fell on her knees before the Saint and begged the Saint to bless them with children. The Saint accordingly blessed them with a fruitful progeny and in return the King offered wealth and rich presents which the Saint did not accept but only asked the King to give him a piece of land near the Sea-shore.

Accordingly the King dedicated 30 acres of land called ‘Heavenly’ and submitted the same to the Holy Saint on which the present buildings and premises of “Nagore Dargha shrine” stands. He remained in the place till the end of his life with his son.As per his instruction his son Hazarath SYED MOHAMMED YOOSUF SAHIB married SYED SULTAN BEEVI AMMA SAHIBA Daughter of Khaja Mahadoom-ul-Yamani of west Nagore. He got eight children-six males and two daughters.

The Saint went to Vanjoor nearly 2 miles away from the northern side of Nagore and in the Arabic month of Rajab fasted there for 40 days in a pit covered with a plank on which side the present Vanjoor Pallivasal stands and also fasted 40days at Silladi Pallivasal near sea-shore of Nagore.

The holy Saint demised in His 68th year on a Friday early morning in Hijiri 978 and was entombed at Nagore according to his direction. On the right side of the Holy Saint the tomb of His son Hazarath Syed Mohamed Yoosuf Sahib and the tomb of his wife Syed Sultan Beebi Amma Sahiba are situated.

The Maharatta King of Thanjavur Tulasi Maharaja endowed 115 villages 4000 acres of Agricultural lands for the maintenance of the Dargha.

The Miracles of the Holy saint had not stopped with his demise, but continues to the present day.

The people of all religion are visiting Nagore Dargah daily to get the blessings of the Holy saint with out any distinction. The Nagore Dargha is an object of Great veneration not only for Muslims but also for people of other religions. The Holy Saint came to Nagore on Thursday. Madurai Maqbara , Tamil Nadu , INDIA

In Madurai, in southern Tamil Nadu there are many Dargahs of Wali Allah, but the term “Madurai Maqbara” generally refers to the Dargahs of three saints: Mir Ahmad Ibrahim, Mir Amjad Ibrahim, and Abdus Salaam Ibrahim. The birth of these three Wali Allah’s was declared by Hazrat Nabi Sulaiman, the messenger of Allah, and a genie called Jaimur was deployed by Hazrat Sulaiman to serve them. The place where these three sheikhs’ graves are found is called Maqbara and is in the premises of Kazimar Big mosque (Periya Pallivasal) in the Heart of Madurai, city which is the cultural capital of Tamil Nadu in South India.

Periya is a Tamil word that in English means elder or big, and Kabeer كبير in Arabic. Similarly, Chinna is a Tamil word which translates to younger or small in English, and in Arabic means “Sagheer” صغير. Hence, Meer Ahmed Ibrahim is called Elder Hazrat or حضرت ال كبير and Meer Amjad Ibrahim is called Younger Hazrat or حضرت ال الصغير.

Meer Ahamed Ibrahim (Periya Hazrat)

The birth of Periya Hazrat was a miracle. Hazrat’s father Moulana Mir ni’amatullah was not blessed with a child for many years after His marriage. One day His wife had a dream. Sultan Syed Ibrahim Shahid badusha of Erwadi appeared and asked her to come to erwadi for ziyarat to have an offspring. Moulana Meer Ahmedh Ibrahim was born three years later with the blessings of Sulthan Syed Ibrahim shaheed.

Meer Ahamed Ibrahim left his home for a madarasa to pursue education. He was among the slow learners in his class. One day his teacher scolded him for being a poor student. The teacher also insisted Meer Ahmad Ibrahim to leave the madarasa the very next morning, as the teacher found him unfit. Periya Hazrat was very sad about this and was worried what could he do after going home.He went to bed with deep sadness after praying to Allah.

That night Periya Hazrat had a dream. A mass of people were running, and Periya Hazrat asked where they were going. People replied as they are going to see Allah’s Tajalli. Periya Hazrat joined them. When they reached a place, at the top of a small hill, Allah’s Tajalli was glittering very gloriously and everyone there enjoyed it. A voice came toward Moulana Meer Ahamed Ibrahim saying what you wished for is given. It was early morning and time for Fajr prayers when Hazrat woke up. Now Periya Hazrat’s teacher asked him again to leave the madharasa. He added, “Yesterday I told you to go, because you were unfit to learn, but today I need you to leave the madarasa as I am not qualified enough to teach you.” This is how Moulana Meer Ahamed Ibrahim became educated. Periya Hazrat then returned to His home town Madurai and started a madarasa to educate Muslims from all over Tamil Nadu. Many scholars of Islam in Tamil Nadu were Periya Hazrat’s students, and those scholars in turn started madarassas all over Tamil Nadu. For His outstanding wisdom and expertise in the Islamic Fiqh laws, Mir Ahamadh Ibrahim was appointed as the government chief Kazi of Madurai and Kaziul Kuzaat by the then Nawab of Carnatic in India. He served excellently with Khilafatship and Kaziship and added Glory to Islam in Madurai and other parts of Tamil Nadu. Periya Hazrat died in 1872, at the age of 63, leaving four sons (Saajid Alaihir Rahma, Qadi Syed Abdul Qadir Ibrahim, Syed Mahmood Ahmad Ibrahim, Contractor Hazrat, constructor of Maqbara and Saqi Meer Niyamatullah Ibrahim) and a daughter, Saalima, wife Saalim Hazrat.

Meer Amjad Ibrahim (Chinna Hazrat)

Right from his birth and during childhood days, Chinna Hazrat was Almighty fearing and was along with his brother Periya Hazrat in spreading Islamic education to the students from all over southern Tamil Nadu. There were a lot of followers (muhibs) of these Hazrats in a nearby locality called Nelpettai Pattaraikaara street belonging to sungam Pallivasal on the southern bank of river Vaigai. Chinna Hazrat used to go to this area to educate these people. One fine day, Chinna Hazrat was walking and reciting some tasbeeh at the bank of river Vaigai after giving them a lecture after Asar. Suddenly, a stunning creature appeared before him. The creature asked Chinna Hazrat to open his mouth, and hazrat did so. Suddenly He spat on Hazrat’s mouth. Chinna Hazrat asked, “Who are you brother?” The reply was “I am Qizar, and you just swallow it.” Right after this incident Chinna Hazrat was in extreme to his wilayat.

Once, a mureed of Chinna Hazrat in Sri Lanka was struggling to breathe, as some food got struck in his vocal chord while eating. Suddenly he shouted, “Yaa Sheikh, help me!” Within a few seconds, Chinna Hazrat could make his presence there in Sri Lanka to help him. It took some few months for that Mureed to come to Madurai and thank hazrat for his timely help.

Also, Khalwat nayagam, who belonged to a traditional family in Keelakarai, Ramanathapuram District, had a wish of going to Sri Lanka for his business. His Father, Imaam Al Aroos, Maappilai Lebbai Aalim, advised his son to go to madurai, to seek blessings from the Madurai Hazrats who are descendants (Awlads) of prophet Muhammad, before leaving for business. Khalwat Nayagam, came to madurai and met Meer Amjad Ibrahim and sought blessings for his business trip. Chinna Hazrat told, “You are not the one will go to Sri Lanka for Business, instead you will sit inside a dark room” Listening to these words from Hazrat, Khalwat nayagam started to Keelakarai. On his way back, he was in a dilemma and before reaching home, his mind got changed and finally he concluded by sitting in Khalwah for his entire lifetime. This is only because of the words of Chinna Hazrat.

Chinna hazrat died at the age of 95 leaving His only son Saalim Hazrat and a daughter who was married to Moulana Syed Khaja Mueenuddeen saheb.

Syed Abdus Salaam Ibrahim (Saalim Hazrat)

The elder son of Chinna Hazrat was Abdus Salaam Ibrahim (Saalim Hazrat) whose birth itself is a miracle. He was very tiny: half the size of a sparrow. Physicians said that the child will not live but, to their wonder, he grew gigantic. He was very much God-fearing right from his childhood days. Once, he was watching a procession which was heading towards a nearby temple with all fun and some music. Prophet Muhammad appeared and said, “This is not the objective for which you are born.” Realizing the mistake Saalim Hazrat went home. Saalim Hazrat was brought up in an Islamic environment by His father Meer Amjad Ibrahim Hazrat and he was a waliyullah from his birth.

One day while Saalim hazrat was performing ablution in the premises of Kazimar Big mosque, madurai, a veiled lady appeared before him, and started reciting a Qasida Anaz zehra Fatimatul Batooli, which means “I am Fatimah, The Zehra and Batool.” Saalim hazrat believed that it could be either a jinn or Shaitan cheating him, and claiming to be his grand mother fatimah. knowing this, Bibi Fatimah, at the end of that Qasida recited these lines. Ana bintur Rasooli wa lastu jinna. Wa ainal jinnu wash shaitaanu minnaان بنت الرسول و لست جننا و اينل جن والشيطان منا, which means “I am the daughter of the Prophet and not Jinn (as you doubted), Jinn and Shaitan surely can’t take our shapes, and they can’t be from us.” Realizing the truth, Saalim hazrat memorised that Qasidah and its still being recited through by people who love Ahl al-Bayt.[4]

Similarly, Hazrat Imam Ali Akbar son of Hazrat Imam Husain the third imam of the twelvers appeared before Saalim hazrat who is one of the descendants of his sibling Imam Zaynul Aabideen, and recited a Qasida which starts as Lanaa fi Jannatil Ulyaa maqaamu لنا في جنث العليا مقام which means “For us (Karbala Martyrs) There are Very Higher status in Heaven.” This Qasida is also read in some parts of tamil nadu.

It was 1297 hijri, 13th of Zil Hijjah Saalim hazrat, after completing his Dhuhr prayer was waiting for Lunch in his home. Suddenly, a saint with a dark green turban arrived on a large Arabian horse, who was found to be Sultan Syed Ibrahim Shaheed of Erwadi dargah. Sulthan Syed Ibrahim Shaheed recited a Qasida starting as Wa laula ballu saifi bid Dimaa’i, Layab Qal Hindu Kulluhu Fil ‘Amaa’ii و لولا بل سيفي بالدماء* ليبقى الهند كله في العماء which means “Had been my sword not soaked in the bloods, this land of India would have gone dark” and completed it with 25 couplets. This was accomplished in three consecutive days.

Also, Shahul Hameed Abdul Qadir of Nagore had also appeared before Saalim waliyullah and recited a Qasida which starts as كراماتنا تجري علا كلي عالم Karaamaatuna Tajri ala kulli ‘aalami which means Our miracles (Wonders) are wide spread all over the universe.[7]

Like His grandfather Hazrat Mir Niamatullah, Saalim waliyullah was not blessed with a child for a very long time after His marriage. He composed a lot of bait begging Erwadi Sulthan Syed Ibrahim Shaheed’s wasila for a child. Finally, after some 12 years, he was blessed with two children: Syed Amjad Ibrahim and Syed Muhammad Shamsuddin Ibrahim. The latter died in childhood.

Maqbara Hazrats and Fassiyatush Shadhiliyya

Meer Ahmed Ibrahim who was chief Kazi to the Govt. at that time, accepted this Tariqa, became its Khalifatul Khulafa appointed by Imama Fassi and started flourishing it. After the death of Periya Hazrat, his brother Meer Amjad Ibrahim became the Khalifa of Fassiyatush Shadhiliyyah. He was appointed by Shamsuddin Muhammad Al Makki Al Fassi. Abdus Salaam Ibrahim Saalim accepted this tariqa only after getting consent from Prophet. Saalim Hazrat got Bai’at (vow) from Sheikh Muhammad Saalih Moulana and embraced shadhiliyya. During the Period of these three Waliyullahs and Khalifaas after them, Fassiyatush Shadhiliyya sufi order started flourishing in various parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and in Sri Lanka.

State: India.

Name of the Dargah: – Dargah-e-Hazrath Syed Moosa Shah Qadri Baghdadi (Rahmathullahi Alaihi) urf Annasalai (or) Mount Road Dargah.

This is the most famous Makham of all Chennai Dargahs and attracts people of all faith from all walks of life including music director, A.R. Rahman, who visits every Thursday, Arcot Prince, High Court Chief Justice and various famous icons of various industries.

Hazrath Syed Moosa Shah Qadri Baghdadi (RA) arrived from Baghdad Shareef in the middle of the 17th Century (450 years back) and lived on the site of what is now better known as the Mount Road Dargah. In life, Hazrath Syed Moosa Shah Qadri Baghdadi (RA) is said to have had great healing powers. When he died, he was buried next to his house and here his family raised the Dargah Shareef. And to it have flocked the sick over the years, seeking the benefits of healing from his spirit.

When a British engineer in the past ordered the shrine to be demolished for road-widening, his workmen refused to proceed with the work when, at the first attempt at excavation around the building, blood spurted from the soil. When the engineer forced them to resume work, he collapsed – dropped dead, say some – the moment trenching began again.

It is the faith in Hazrath Syed Moosa Shah Qadri Baghdadi (RA) that draws people of all faiths to the Dargah Shareef every Thursday, seeking assurances of good health, answers to their prayers and the blessings of the holy. The Dargah Shareef, looked after by the descendants of Hazrath Syed Moosa Shah Qadri Baghdadi (RA) from the time his Dargah was raised, is however, only a part of the campus today. Dominating it in recent times has been one of the largest mosques in South India, with a 100-feet tall minaret. The five-storeyed Makkah Masjid, with its five 5000 sq.ft. halls that can accommodate 5000 worshippers at a time, may be a landmark, but it is the spirit of Hazrath Syed Moosa Shah Qadri Baghdadi (RA) that make this, one of the city’s holy sites.

The Minar-e-Pak at Dargah-e-Hazrath Syed Moosa Shah Qadri Baghdadi (RA) is quite prominent apart from the LIC building and the Tarapore Towers in Mount Road.

Dargah-e-Hazrath Syed Moosa Shah Qadri Baghdadi (RA) is located in Anna Salai, formerly known as Mount Road, is the most important arterial road in Chennai, India. It starts at the Cooum Creek, south of Fort St George connecting with St. Thomas Mount in Saidapet. This 15 km stretch of road running diagonal across the city has become the hub of business for the city. It has been developing in a large pace in the past century. The British developed this road during the colonial era, and they named it as Mount Road, after Little Mount, till which the road extends. Later on, the road was renamed as Anna Salai by ex – Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The word ‘Salai’ in Tamil translates to road in English. Anna Salai is maintained by the National Highways Authority of India. This is the only road in Chennai where lane system of traffic is followed.

Needless to say, anywhere from India, you have access to Chennai through air, roads and railway. If you are reaching Chennai via bus, please get down at Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus (CMBT), Koyambedu and from there, please pick up a bus for “Anna Salai urf Mount Road and ask anybody about the Dargah and they may guide you well.

Ashiq-e-Mehboob-e-Subhani (Rali), Qutb-e-Qalandhar of his time, Hazarath Kunangudi Masthan Saheb’s (Raliyallahu Thaala Anhu Va Rahimahu) Mazar-e-Mubarak is located in Royapuram, Madras, Tamilnadu.

Hazarath Kunangudi Masthan Sahib (Rali) had the deepest love for Qutb-ul-Aqtab, Hazarath Ghous-e-Pak (Rali). He has sung so many songs on Allahu Jalla Jalaluhu Thaala, Rasul-e-Kareem Sallallahu Alaihi Va Sallam and on Hazarath Ghous-e-Pak (Rali). Every word in those songs is an ocean of Irfan.

What a lay-man will understand by reading the above lines. That’s the height of love, Hazarath Kunangudi Masthan Sahib (Rali) had towards Parwar Digaar-E-Alam, Allahu Jalla Jalaluhu Thaala.

Mazar-e-Mubarak of Hazrath Qadir Masthan (RA),
the beloved husband of Madhar Bibi_(RA)

He lowered his Nafs in that way. He used to say – there is no sinner in the world but I’m the greatest sinner. He says – “Our body is septic tank” which our toilets are connected to. In all the possible ways, he had lowered himself in front of ALLAH, Rasul-e-Kareem, Sallallahu Alaihi Va Sallam and Ghous-e-Pak (Rali) that nobody can do.

SubhanALLAH. I can’t express his Darajah/Makham/Heights he achieved in Wilyath. So many Awliyah-ALLAH used to go very deepest in the jungle and tried to meet Hazarath Kunangudi Masthan Sahib (Rali) to convey salam and on the way, many Awliyahs died as well. Hazarath Kunangudi Masthan Sahib (Rali) used to be in thorns in Zikr status. He didn’t marry because of the love He (rali) had towards Mahboob-e-Subhani (Rali)

Hazarath Kunangudi Masthan Sahib (Rali) requested ALLAH to hide his Makham and want to be away from Dhuniya even after his Pardha. Very few may guide you when you go to his Dargah in Royapuram, Madras.

Mazar-e-Mubarak of Hazrath Madhar Bibi (RA), the beloved Khadim
of Hazrath Kunangudi Masthan Saheb (RA)

It’s a very very very simple Mazar-e-Mubarak but Hazarath Kunangudi Masthan Sahib (Rali) is the Qutb-e-Qalandhar of his time undoubtedly. He got Baiyath directly from Ghous-e-Pak (rali). He (rali) used to call Ghous-e-Pak (rali) as Kunangudi (meaning – the one where good character stays ) so Ghous-e-Pak (rali) kept the same name to him (rali) while giving Baiyath.

His height of Wilayath is the highest of the highest of the highest of the………………………………………….go endlessly…SubhanALLAH…I will talk for years about Hazarath Kunangudi Masthan Sahib (Rali).

Everest is a tiny particle in front of the love Hazarath Kunangudi Masthan Sahib (Rali) had towards Ghous-e-Pak (Rali). He says to Ghous-e-Pak (Rali)

“You will control crores of Dhuniya (which ALLAH has created) in your hand as ball and play with it”

“You will shake the 7 Dhuniyas (Which ALLAH has created) and play with them on youn hand”

Mazar-e-Mubarak of Hazrath Ibrahim Saheb (RA), who didn’t speak after
Hazrath Kunangudi Masthan (RA) questioned him
whether he would speak or not.

“You will stitch Dhniya/Aahirath into an Atom and play with it”

“You will insert the 7 seas into a mustard and stir them”

“Please come in front of this Ghulam “

“I am becoming the worst and worst even after I submit myself in your holy feets”

“You’re the Badhusha and my Peer-o-Murshid, in whom good character (kunangudi) stays”

Mazar-e-Mubarak of Hazrath Sheikh Abdul
Qadir Urf Pulavar Nayagangal (RA)

Hazarath (Rali) used not to wear any dress but used to close his hygienic part alone. He used to live in the deepest/dreadful jungle area where even Animals will fear to live. Thorns are his houses where he (rali) used to be in Zikr status. Qutb of Qutbs in his lifetime. World No.1 lover of Ghous-e-Pak (Rali)

About Chennai:- Chennai, formerly known as Madras, is the capital of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Located on the Coromandel Coast of the Bay of Bengal, Chennai has an estimated population of 7.5 million (2007), making it the fourth largest metropolitan city in India. The name Chennai is an eponym, etymologically derived from Chennapattinam or Chennapattanam, the name of the town that grew up around Fort St. George, built by the British in 1640. There are different versions about the origin of the name.

The city was established in the 17th century by the British, who developed it into a major urban centre and naval base. By the 20th century, it had become an important administrative centre, as the capital of the Madras Presidency. The city was officially renamed Chennai in 1996, about the same time that many Indian cities were undergoing name changes because Madras was seen as a Portuguese name.
